"Architectural forms are often overlooked by people. Most of them are considered to create a definite shape for the human eye indicating protective shelter and enclosed space. In the beginning of my experience at the University of Cincinnati, I found ways to recognize the location of specific infrastructures. With each passing day, I remember certain forms and shapes that feel familiar to me, and I encapsulate them in an imaginary map to help visually embed them in my daily way-finding.

 

My inspiration in clouds and their form comes from my own experience growing up in Indonesia. Living in the Jakarta, I did not get to see diverse cloud forms due to the polluted sky. The grey smog deprives the stars of their shine. Coming to a new country with clear skies gave me the opportunity to admire the beauty above.

 

I have always noticed the relationship between architecture and clouds. I see structures as man-made forms that stay grounded, rising up to their own height. On the other hand, clouds move freely, and disappear in the end. The extreme contrast between their natures suggests their constant fight for space in the sky. I see their interaction as a balanced composition of color, form, and mood."
